The MSc Thesis in Mathematical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino authored by Lorenzo Bellantuono and titled “Computational model for the simulation of the windblown sand transport, sedimentation, erosion and avalanching around obstacles” has earned an honourable mention (3rd place over 54 candidates) within the Maurizio Ceseri national Award 2025, promoted by the Istituto per le Applicazioni del Calcolo – Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche in Rome (website).
The Thesis has been supervised by Lorenzo Raffaele and Luca Bruno (PoliTo, Wind Engineering), Luigi Preziosi (PoliTo, Mathematical Modelling), Nicolas Coste (Optiflow Company, FR), members of the WSMM joint R&D group.
